Cuban Dudes: From Empanadas to Croquetas: The Story of Cuban Dudes in Gainesville, FL

Cuban Dudes is an authentic Cuban hot spot located in Gainesville, FL offering delicious Cuban and Latin dishes. From Miami,FL, Andy and his wife met when they were 15 years old, and came all the way up with their daughters to show the love and taste of their culture to our community.

For Andy Pineda and his wife Diana, the idea of Cuban Dudes was born as they drove into Gainesville, FL, from Miami via I-75. The couple, along with Diana's brother David, wanted to share their love for Latin culture and homemade goodness with the community in Gainesville. Starting with a small tent on the side of Archer, Andy and David started selling empanadas, which quickly grew to include sandwiches, and before they knew it, they were running a full-blown operation out of a food truck.

Cuban Dudes offers a mouth-watering selection of Latin-inspired cuisine, from beef and cheese empanadas to delicious croquetas and outstanding Cuban sandwiches. For those with a sweet tooth, their guava and cheese pastelitos are a must-try. Diana is the mastermind behind the kitchen, and every dish is made with love and care.

Now located in the Cuban Corner, a space by the GFAA Gallery, Cuban Dudes has become a fixture in the community. The Cuban Corner is a project that Andy had been working on, incorporating the Latin, Caribbean, and Hispanic feel of comfort. It's a place where you can grab your Cafecito and Pastelito de Queso y Guayaba, sit down, and feel at home. The space brings together art, food, and culture to create an authentic and welcoming experience.

Looking to the future, Cuban Dudes and the Cuban Corner have big plans for 2023. Be sure not to miss out on their new addition, the Arepa Burger, joining them on May 1st, along with many other surprises to make you feel right at home.Support local spots like Cuban Dudes by downloading our Byppo app. Check in to your favorite local restaurants found at Byppo app and get $5 towards your next meal.
